Estelle grew up with a deep love of horses. Her mother took her to the lessons over the years as a lot of parents do. She learned to ride in Paris where they lived, then in Bruxelles where she care least several horses and finally they moved to the US, in Washington State. Daniel grew up in Montreal Quebec had never was around horses. He always wanted to understand why Estelle had so much love and passion for them. He found a lovely little grey Arab mare on Craigslist and thought it would a great idea to buy her. and that is how it all started. They lived in Newcastle- total suburbia.
So they bought the mare and found a great boarding place. One horse was not enough, after a few months they purchased Riley, a national show horse. One day at the boarding facility a beautiful, 16.2 just retired off the track thoroughbred came in. She was for sale. Daniel fell in love and they bought their 3 horse. Boarding 3 horses was getting silly. Estelle found a horse property in Maple Valley, within a month their house was sold and they were moving to horse land. Soon following the purchase and move to the horse property: Villa Fleur de Lys was born. Estelle stop working at Paccar in the marketing department. they worked hard, researched a lot and spoke to as many horse people as they could, to figure out what horses really need to be happy. The concept they decided on was horses needed runs, good hay and feed, mud free, a lot of movement, be in a herd as they are social animals like us and live where they feel safe.
After years of having they're own horses and rescuing several horses. They started to boarding horses as well. They have rehabilitated horses and just adopted Penny, a lovely quarter horse who needs work but will be rideable again..
Their goals are simple, All living beings on the property should be at peace and happy.
